Warm up: Marching

Animation Marching

  • Marching in place is a warming up exercise. It increases heart rate and breathing rate. When muscles are warmed up, you can start with light exercises.
  • Warm up for about 1 to 5 minutes, depending on how much time you need to transition into exercise.
  • Move your arms and shoulders while marching to warm up the upper body. You can also do arm stretches and arm exercises while marching in place.
  • Marching improves balance.


Side step

  • Stand with feet wide and let your arms relax. Balance from left to right.
  • You can do this exercise with or without dumbbells.
  • For a high impact version add a hop to this exercise.
  • It’s an easy to learn and fun exercise.
  • It’s a light cardio exercise and helps balancing your body.


Knee lift

Animation Knee lift

  • Bring your knee up to a 90 degree angle. At the same time you bring your arms down from above your head.
  • For more intensity add a hop to every time you bring your knee up.
  • This exercise works out your muscles in your upper legs, hips, shoulders and abs.


Jogging-in-place

  • A quick and easy workout. This exercise is a calorie burner and you don’t need a gym.
  • Move your arms and upper body while jogging for a total workout.
  • For a more intensive workout add a higher hop to your steps.
  • It’s an easy and fun exercise.
